About the Role
A leading Main contractor with an interior fit-out divisioon is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery of high‑quality CAT B office fit-out projects across the UK. This is a key leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys managing complex projects, and is confident working directly with clients and supply chain partners.
You will take full responsibility for project delivery from inception to handover, ensuring operational excellence, commercial performance, and exceptional client satisfaction. Regular travel will be required across major UK cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Belfast.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Management
Lead and manage all site operations across multiple fit-out projects.
Chair project handover meetings and coordinate with estimating and operational teams.
Oversee multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
Prepare progress reports and liaise with supply chain partners.
Coordinate trades, materials, and logistics to meet programme requirements.
Ensure all works are planned and executed safely.
Maintain accurate site records and ensure timely reporting.
Manage plant and equipment across assigned projects.
Provide regular updates to senior management.
Commercial Management
Oversee commercial performance of all projects under your control.
Work closely with the commercial team to achieve financial targets.
Manage change, record variations, and communicate updates effectively.
Support the development and performance management of the supply chain.
Supply Chain Coordination
Lead supply chain interviews and approve work packages.
Hold subcontractor pre‑start meetings and weekly performance reviews.
Support ongoing supply chain development and relationship management.
Health & Safety Leadership
Take full responsibility for SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) management on all projects.
Promote and enforce best practice health and safety standards.
Client Relationship Management
Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure projects are delivered in line with client expectations.
Manage feedback, handover processes, and defect resolution.
People Leadership
Manage, mentor, and develop project teams.
Support recruitment activities within the department.
Business Contribution
Participate in senior management discussions and departmental development.
Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industry best practice.
Assist with tender adjudication and project reviews.
About You – Skills & Experience
Technical Competencies
Strong background in the fit-out sector, ideally with commercial and programme management experience.
Proven experience in a senior project management role.
Excellent understanding of commercial and contractual matters.
Strong communication skills with the ability to operate at a senior level.
Ability to manage multiple workloads and lead teams to tight deadlines.
Experience working in a client‑focused environment.
Strong negotiation skills.
Flexibility to travel across the UK for short-term project requirements.
Full, clean driving licence.
