Façade Estimator
A leading façade contractor with offices in London who specialise in manufacturing and installing glazing, cladding, and metalwork products to the construction industry are looking for a facade estimator to join the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Tendering
· Analyse tender documents, drawings and specifications
· Perform accurate measured take-offs and scope breakdowns
· Prepare cost estimates including materials, labour, plant, preliminaries, design, testing, warranties and risk allowances
· Produce structured pricing schedules, BOQs, clarifications, assumptions and exclusions
· Identify value-engineering opportunities and alternative compliant proposals
· Prepare high-quality tender submissions and ensure timely delivery
· Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings where required
Bid & Client Interface
· Prepare written tender narratives where required
· Manage tender clarifications and addendums
· Support negotiations and issue revised pricing or Best & Final Offers to clients with support from Senior member of staff
Supply Chain & Procurement Engagement
· Prepare enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors
· Assess and compare quotations for compliance and competitiveness
· Coordinate pricing with procurement and maintain strong supplier relationships
Required Skills & Experience
Façade Experience
· Experience with or exposure to curtain walling, glazing systems, rainscreen cladding, aluminium windows/doors, architectural metalwork, SFS or similar façade systems.
Technical & Estimating Skills
· Minimum 3 years of estimating or commercial experience in the UK construction industry.
· Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and schedules.
· Capable of producing accurate take-offs and detailed cost build-ups.
· Understanding of façade buildability, sequencing, logistics and compliance requirements.
· Proficient with Excel and digital take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, Autodesk).
· Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
· Able to collaborate effectively across design, commercial, procurement and project teams.
Technical Understanding
· Solid grasp of façade interfaces, tolerances, sequencing, access requirements and compliance considerations.
· Ability to identify missing information and raise timely technical queries.
· Confident working with design and technical colleagues to ensure buildable, practical solutions.
Desirable
· Knowledge of CWCT standards, UK Building Regulations and broader façade compliance requirements.
· Familiarity with JCT/NEC contracts.
· Experience contributing to tender methodology or written technical content.
· Experience mentoring junior staff or coordinating tender activities more independently.
· Understanding of façade manufacturing processes, fabrication constraints and lead times.
