We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming residential infrastructure projects. This role will focus heavily on residential groundworks, including roads and sewers, and requires a hands-on engineer with strong setting-out and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

– Setting out for residential groundworks packages, including roads, drainage, and foundations
– Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and QA requirements
– Managing and interpreting technical drawings and site documentation
– Coordinating with site managers, subcontractors, and design teams
– Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records
– Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations at all times
– Supporting progress reporting and resolving technical issues on site

Requirements

– Proven experience as a Site Engineer within residential groundworks
– Strong knowledge of roads and sewers (278 works, drainage, adoptable standards)
– Proficient in setting out using GPS and total station equipment
– Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
– CSCS card (essential)
– SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
– Own equipment preferred but not essential
– Strong communication and problem-solving skills
