The Role
My client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in construction and commercial management.
You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, gaining hands-on experience and developing a strong understanding of the commercial aspects of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee QS, your duties will include (full training provided):
Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and project budgets
Supporting the measurement and valuation of works (both on-site and from drawings)
Assisting with subcontractor procurement, orders, and payments
Supporting the monitoring and control of project costs
Assisting in the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
Maintaining accurate records of costs and commercial documentation
Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
Supporting material and subcontract procurement processes
Assisting the commercial team with financial reporting and cost tracking
Learning to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Client Is Looking For:
A strong desire to learn and develop within the construction industry
Good numerical and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills
Good IT skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
A proactive and positive attitude
No prior experience is required—full training will be provided.
