Site Agent
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and utilities projects across the Midlands and wider UK.
The business has a strong reputation for delivering water, highways, and infrastructure schemes, working closely with major frameworks and regulated environments. The Role
As Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, and within budget.
You will manage site teams, subcontractors, and resources while maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, programming, and resource allocation
Managing project budgets and monitoring performance against programme
Full site cost control and commercial awareness
Overseeing construction works to required quality standards
Ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance at all times
Managing site staff, subcontractors, and operatives
Producing and reviewing key documentation including RAMS, CPPs, ITPs, TBTs, and programmes
Leading site briefings and ensuring teams are fully informed
Liaising with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders
Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
Overseeing inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover
Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering or infrastructure
Strong knowledge of site safety, planning, and delivery processes
Ability to produce and manage site documentation and programmes
Must be able to commute within 1 hour of West Bromwich
Essential Qualifications:
SMSTS (5-day)
CSCS Black Card (NVQ Level 6)
First Aid at Work (3-day)
NRSWA Supervisor
Desirable:
HNC / HND in Civil Engineering or similar
Temporary Works Coordinator
Confined Space Training
Lifting Appointed Person
Environmental Management knowledge
