Overview
A long‑established mechanical and electrical building services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support ongoing projects across South Wales. With a strong reputation for delivering complex building services installations, including mechanical systems, electrical services, HVAC, public health systems, and sustainable engineering solutions, this organisation requires someone with proven experience in the building services or M&E contracting sector.
The Role
You’ll support the Health & Safety function across multiple projects, ensuring full compliance with legislation, internal policies, and safe working practices. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, site teams, and subcontractors, providing practical, hands‑on safety guidance on fast‑paced construction and M&E installation projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct site inspections and audits across building services projects
* Support risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
* Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and safety inductions
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
* Provide advice to operational teams on all health, safety, and environmental matters
* Assist with accident/incident investigations and follow‑up actions
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety culture
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within construction, ideally mechanical & electrical building services
* Recognised H&S qualification (NEBOSH, NCRQ or equivalent)
* Strong knowledge of building services environments such as HVAC, plumbing, heating, electrical systems, plant rooms, hospitals, schools, public buildings, industrial facilities or similar
* Excellent communication and engagement skills
* Full UK driving licence
