Structural Engineer – Facades

Overview
We are working with a leading specialist contractor delivering façade and cladding projects across the UK. They are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to support the design and assessment of temporary works across multiple live projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, review and approve temporary works including scaffolding, hoarding and access systems

* Carry out structural assessments and wind load calculations on façade systems

* Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (BS5975, Eurocodes, CDM Regulations)

* Assess impact of temporary works on existing structures and load paths

* Produce clear calculations, technical reports and design documentation

* Provide technical support to site teams and attend project/design meetings

* Liaise with internal teams, clients and external consultants

Requirements

* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

* 4–8+ years’ experience in structural or temporary works design

* Strong knowledge of temporary works, scaffolding and load assessments

* Experience with wind load calculations and façade-related structures

* Familiar with relevant UK regulations and standards (BS, Eurocodes, CDM)

* Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g. Robot, SAP2000, STAAD or similar)

* Good communication and ability to manage multiple projects

Desirable

* Experience within façade / cladding projects

* Chartered or working towards (IStructE / ICE)

* Experience supporting site-based activities
