Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst
Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary/Benefits: £25k – £32k + Training & Benefits
Our client is a UKAS accredited outfit, who have a known presence in the South Eastern region. They have recently won new business, and therefore require an experienced Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their team. You will be responsible for undertaking the analysis of asbestos samples, to confirm the presence and type of fibre. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and will have a good grasp of industry guidelines. Our client is offering competitive salaries and benefits packages to the successful applicant.
We can consider candidates from the following locations: Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Epping, Hoddesdon, Chigwell, Enfield, Braintree, Tiptree, Witham, Maldon, Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Halstead, Colchester, Billericay, South Woodham Ferrers, Basildon, Southminster, Burnham-on-Crouch, Rochford, Hockley, Southend-on-Sea, Canvey Island, South Benfleet.
Experience / Qualifications:
* Must hold the BOHS P401 as a minimum
* Hands-on experience undertaking bulk analysis of ACM samples
* Good understanding of UKAS guidelines
* Able to manage own workload
* Commutable to the laboratory
* Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills
The Role:
* Receiving ACM samples into the lab and storing correctly
* Using PLM and stereo-microscopy methods to analyse samples
* Confirming the presence of asbestos and type of fibres
* Updating internal databases with results from analysis
* Carrying out quality assurance checks on completed samples, in order to maintain UKAS status
* Creating and issuing analysis certificates
* Working within a team to achieve company targets
* Calibrating lab equipment
