Project Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join a highly reputable main contractor to deliver a £50M high-rise student accommodation scheme in South Yorkshire.
This landmark development comprises a 12-storey reinforced concrete frame building delivering 270 high-spec apartments, and forms part of a strong and growing pipeline of residential and multi-room projects across the region.
This is a key appointment, offering the chance to take full ownership of a large-scale, technically complex scheme, with responsibility from early delivery stages through to successful completion and handover.
The Role
Reporting to the Construction Director, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary site team and manage a wide range of subcontract packages, maintaining strong communication with clients and consultants while driving performance across all aspects of the build.
This role requires a hands-on, proactive leader who can manage complexity, mitigate risk, and maintain momentum on a fast-paced, high-rise scheme.
Key Responsibilities
Full lifecycle project management from pre-construction through to completion and handover
Development, management, and monitoring of the construction programme
قيادة and coordination of site teams, including Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors
Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
Management of project budgets, cost control, and reporting alongside commercial teams
Oversight of quality assurance and ensuring works are delivered in line with specifications
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
Identifying and mitigating risks, resolving technical and logistical challenges
Providing regular progress reports to senior leadership
Driving a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project Manager within a main contracting environment
Proven track record delivering multi-room / residential / student accommodation projects
Experience managing schemes of similar scale (£30M-£50M+)
Strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with RC frame construction (essential)
Ability to manage complex programmes and multiple subcontract packages
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Commercial awareness with the ability to work closely with Quantity Surveyors
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
