About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Technical Services Manager to join a growing and dynamic construction team. This role will support the delivery of complex projects by assisting in the coordination and management of all technical services, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency at every stage.
Working closely with project teams and senior management, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of building services across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the coordination and management of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services across projects
Support the Technical Services Manager in ensuring all building services are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality standards
Review technical drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance and accuracy
Liaise with design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical issues
Monitor installation works to ensure compliance with design, regulations, and industry standards
Support commissioning, testing, and handover processes
Assist in managing RFIs, technical queries, and design changes
Ensure health & safety and environmental standards are upheld across all technical services activities
Contribute to project reporting, including progress updates and risk identification
About You
Essential Experience
Experience working within a construction or building services environment
Exposure to M&E systems and coordination on construction projects
Understanding of the construction process and project lifecycle
Experience reviewing technical drawings and specifications
Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Desirable Experience
Previous experience in a similar Assistant Technical Services or Building Services role
Experience working on commercial, residential, or fit-out projects
Knowledge of commissioning and handover processes
Familiarity with relevant UK building regulations and standards
Qualifications
Essential:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related disciplineDesirable:
Working towards or holding a professional membership (e.g. CIBSE, IET)
Relevant health & safety qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS)
Skills & Attributes

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work with technical documentation
Proactive and team-oriented approach
