Setting Out Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Setting Out Engineer to support the delivery of a marine civils package on a major infrastructure project. This is a fast-paced, site-based role offering the opportunity to work on complex coastal and marine works within a challenging environment.

This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong setting out experience, who can take responsibility for accurate site delivery and support the wider engineering team from day one.

Setting out Engineer Key Responsibilities:

* Carrying out accurate setting out for marine civils works including structures, piling, and coastal infrastructure

* Interpreting drawings and ensuring works are delivered in line with specifications and programme

* Using GPS and Total Station equipment to carry out surveys and site checks

* Producing and maintaining as-built records and survey data

* Supporting QA processes, including inspections and documentation

* Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure smooth delivery of works

Setting out Engineer Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on marine or major civils projects

* Strong setting out and surveying skills (GPS/Total Station – Trimble/Leica preferred)

* Experience working on marine, coastal, or heavy civils packages

* Good understanding of drawings, specifications, and QA processes

* CSCS card (essential)

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment
