Salary; £40,000-£60,000 + Package

We’re working with a well-established contractor in the Derby area who is looking to strengthen their commercial team with a talented Estimator. They are a respected client within the civil engineering sector and deliver high-quality infrastructure and groundwork projects across the UK.

💼 The Role

You’ll play a key role in securing new business by producing accurate, competitive estimates across a range of civil engineering and groundwork projects.

Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring tenders are delivered to a high standard and on time.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

* 📊 Prepare detailed cost estimates from drawings and specifications

* 📑 Review tender documents and identify key risks and opportunities

* 🤝 Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing

* 💡 Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives

* 🗂️ Manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively

* 📈 Support bid submissions and help secure new projects

* 👷 Ensure a smooth handover to delivery teams

✅ Key Requirements

* 🏗️ Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator

* 🌍 Strong civil engineering / groundwork background (essential)

* 🔍 High level of accuracy and attention to detail

* 🧠 Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills

* 💬 Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

* 💻 Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office

* 🚗 Full UK driving licence (preferred)
