Overview
Red Sky Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor delivering a major highways infrastructure scheme in Oxfordshire.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civils, specifically across earthworks, groundworks, and structural packages (bridges, RC works, retaining walls). This is a key leadership role responsible for driving delivery across complex work packages on a high-profile project.
Key Responsibilities
Full project lifecycle management from pre-construction through to completion
Lead delivery of major highways packages, including bulk earthworks, drainage, groundworks, and structural elements
Manage site teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery
Drive programme planning and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Oversee resource allocation, logistics, and material management (including high-volume earthworks operations)
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Manage NEC contracts, including cost control, change management, and reporting
Liaise with clients, designers, and key stakeholders to resolve technical and delivery challenges
Chair progress meetings, produce reports, and maintain clear communication across all project stakeholders
Monitor performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
Ensure high standards of workmanship across both groundworks and structural works
Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring alignment with programme and quality expectations
Compile and manage project documentation, including handover and O&M manuals
Essential
Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience delivering major infrastructure or highways projects in a Project Manager capacity
Strong background across earthworks, groundworks, drainage, and structural works (RC, bridges, retaining structures)
Experience managing large-scale projects with multiple work packages and subcontractors
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
Demonstrated ability to manage programme, cost, and risk effectively
Strong leadership and team management capability
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Full UK driving licence
