£50,000 – £55,000 per annum

Talented People are partnering with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected organisation delivering complex projects, where you’ll play a key role in driving commercial performance, managing risk, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities:

* Work within the company’s Integrated Management System, policies, and procedures

* Build strong partnerships between commercial and operational teams

* Monitor and manage project risks and associated budgets

* Oversee performance standards and quality across projects

* Procure subcontractors in line with commercial targets, negotiating best value

* Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships

* Ensure clear communication across project teams and departments

* Interpret contract requirements and advise project teams accordingly

* Develop and manage procurement strategies aligned with project programmes

* Submit accurate and timely applications for payment

* Manage and recover retentions in line with contract terms

* Identify and maximise value opportunities, including pricing and managing variations

* Monitor costs and value to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting

* Support and mentor other members of the project team

Skills & Knowledge

* Strong contract awareness

* Good financial and commercial acumen

* Solid understanding of tendering and procurement processes

* Awareness of QHSE legislation

Experience

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a civil engineering environment

* Experience in dispute resolution (desirable)

* Understanding of CVRs and financial reporting (desirable)

Technical Skills

* Experience with commercial systems (e.g. cost reporting tools such as Evision, Business Collaborator)

Qualifications

* HNC / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar (preferred)

* RICS membership (desirable)

* Full UK driving licence

* Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4, ECC, ICE, and JCT contracts
