One of a concrete repair clients based in Surrey have an immediate need of a quantity surveyor or specialist consultant to work within an established commercial team from their modern offices in Surrey.
Overview;
* Manages costs, procurement, and measurement of structural concrete repair projects.
* Ensuring repairs are compliant with standards like BS EN 1504. They bridge the gap between technical inspection and financial management, converting damage survey findings into accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for tender, and managing budgets during repair works.
Role;
* Condition Surveys & Inspection: Coordinating with engineers to identify and document concrete defects (spalling, carbonation, chloride penetration).
* Quantification of Repairs: Using surveys (including drone and rope access data) to produce detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for tendering, ensuring fair procurement.
* Cost Consultancy: Preparing budget costs, feasibility studies, and development appraisals for remedial projects.
* Contract Management: Handling interim valuations, variations, and final accounts to ensure projects remain within budget.
* Expert Advice: Providing advice on repair methods, materials, and long-term asset management
Knowledge;

Concrete repair surveyors work across diverse sectors including public/private buildings, infrastructure (bridges), marine structures, and high-rise residential.
* Cathodic Protection (CP): Costing systems designed to stop reinforcement corrosion.
* Structural Strengthening: Estimating costs for repairs, such as using carbon fibre wrapping.
* Heritage & Conservation: Specialised repairs for listed or aged structures.
