We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Planner specialising in Civil Engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and scheduling civil infrastructure projects, ensuring that all phases are executed efficiently and within specified timelines. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in civil project planning, design, and management to contribute to innovative infrastructure developments.
The ideal applicant will possess a comprehensive understanding of civil systems, construction processes, and relevant software, supporting the seamless delivery of complex projects.
My client has an exceptional pipeline with recent projects consisting of road schemes, bridge works, public realm, reservoirs and general civil engineering schemes based predominantly in the North West.
Duties
• Develop detailed project schedules using specialised software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, aligning with project milestones and resource availability.
• Prepare and review technical schematics, system designs, and land surveying data to inform project planning stages.
• Utilise AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and CAD tools to create accurate civil drawings and schematics that meet project specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, surveyors, and construction managers to ensure project alignment and timely progression.
• Monitor project progress against schedules, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective measures proactively.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and technical reports to support project proposals and stakeholder communication.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
Experience
• HND, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent industry qualification.
• 3-5 years' experience as a Planner within construction or civils.
• Strong IT skills, including Primavera P6, Powerproject, MS Project, Visio and CorelDraw.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Site experience desirable.
• Good understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements.
• Solid construction and civils knowledge with the ability to assess alternative solutions.
• Strong grasp of Compensation Events, EOTs, and entitlement processes.
• Confident user of P6, including resource/cost loading, critical path analysis, baselines and variances.
