The Role
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in a senior leadership capacity. This role will be based in the Bristol area and will play a key part in the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of a major social housing refurbishment contract.
This is a pivotal operational role with full responsibility for delivering a large-scale housing partnership programme, with scope to expand into a broader remit over time.
The successful candidate will bring extensive senior-level experience within construction operations, ideally within the social housing sector, delivering both internal and external refurbishment and retrofit programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead overall operations of a social housing refurbishment contract, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery
Manage multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specification
Drive project strategy, sustainability objectives, and continuous performance improvement
Oversee commercial performance including risk management, P&L accountability, and collaboration on tenders and forecasting
Build strong stakeholder relationships while ensuring effective reporting, technical support, and resolution of defects and complaints
Requirements
Essential:
Proven experience operating at Senior Operations Manager or Operations Manager level
Strong track record in construction refurbishment, particularly within social housing programmes
Demonstrated success managing large-scale contracts valued at £20m+ and multi-million-pound projects
Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 6 in Construction or equivalent)
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
Experience within the retrofit sector
