Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator – Bedford

We are currently working with a well established and growing construction business delivering projects across commercial interiors, fit-out, refurbishment and M&E services.

Due to continued growth they are now looking to bring in a Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator to support their pre-construction and tendering function.

This role would suit an experienced estimator looking to step up into a broader pre-con role, or someone already operating in pre-construction within a commercial construction environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the pre-construction phase of projects from initial enquiry through to handover, ensuring accurate pricing, planning and coordination.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing estimates and tender submissions for projects up to £3m

Producing take-offs from drawings including labour and materials

Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing

Reviewing project documentation and identifying risks or gaps

Supporting tender reviews, site visits and handover processes

Working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth project delivery

About You

Previous experience as an Estimator within commercial construction

Ideally exposure to fit-out, interiors or refurbishment projects

Understanding of full tender process and pricing strategy

Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness

Good communication and organisational skills

IT literate (Excel and estimating systems)
