A well‑established South Coast main contractor is looking to appoint a Tender Planner in Southampton to strengthen its postreconstructive team. The business delivers new build, refurbishment and fit‑out schemes across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex, with projects typically ranging from £5 million to £20 million.

They operate across a balanced mix of sectors, including commercial offices, industrial and logistics facilities, schools and colleges, community buildings, healthcare environments, and leisure schemes. The contractor is known for practical delivery, collaborative working, and a sensible, quality‑focused approach to construction.

Role

OverviewThe Tender Planner will support all front‑end planning activity, working closely with postreconstructive, estimating, design and operations teams to develop clear, realistic and well‑structured tender programmes. Your work will help shape methodology, identify risks, and set the foundations for successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare tender programmes for projects between £5m and £20m
Review drawings, specifications and technical information to build logic‑based schedules
Work with internal teams to define sequencing, methodology and key milestones
Develop phasing, logistics considerations and outline construction strategies
Produce programme narratives and supporting planning documentation for tender submissions
Attend internal tender reviews and meetings with design teams and operational leads
Provide programme insight during project handover once bids are secured
What We're Looking For

Experience in planning within a main contractor environment
Ability to plan at tender stage across commercial, education, industrial or similar sectors
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and buildability
Ability to identify risk and propose practical solutions early
Experience using Asta Powerproject or similar planning tools
Clear communicator with a structured, methodical approach
