Hill & Hill Recruitment is representing a fantastic super-prime luxury developer and contractor, renowned for delivering exceptional single-dwelling and high-end residential projects in London. We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to support the preconstruction function and help drive new business opportunities.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the preconstruction process and supporting the business in securing new work. This includes managing enquiries, coordinating bids, supporting estimating teams, and maintaining strong communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
The role is essential in keeping the company professional, responsive, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of high-value projects.
Key Responsibilities
Bid & Estimating
* Manage incoming enquiries and update internal systems.
* Liaise with the Pre-Construction Manager to ensure new enquiries are actioned promptly.
* Assist with pre-qualification questionnaires and gathering of enquiry information.
* Coordinate fee proposals from external estimators and cost consultants, providing feedback to the Pre-Construction Manager.
* Organise and chair internal bid meetings at key stages (launch, mid, and adjudication).
* Work closely with estimators, contract managers, engineers, and architects to ensure estimates meet project goals.
* Assist in preparing high-quality bid submissions and supporting tender presentations.
* Follow up on tender outcomes and update the team on progress.
Client Relationship Management
* Build and nurture strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
* Identify opportunities to expand services and drive additional business.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
* Maintain CRM systems to manage leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
* Track business development performance and prepare reports for senior management.
* Analyse enquiry-to-project conversion rates and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Business Development & Networking
* Attend industry and networking events to identify new business opportunities.
* Develop relationships with partners, clients, and industry contacts to support long-term growth.
Candidate Profile
* 3–5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or preconstruction within the construction or luxury residential sector.
* Proven track record of achieving targets and driving business growth.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
