Quantity Surveyor Construction
Our client, a growing and well-respected construction contractor specialising in refurbishment and fit-out projects within live healthcare environments is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in Dartford, Kent; offering a basic salary of up to £60,000 PA DOE.
The business delivers technically challenging refurbishment schemes across London and the Home Counties and is continuing to grow its project pipeline. As a result, they are looking to bring in a commercially capable Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing their own projects and keen to develop their career within a fast-moving contractor.
This opportunity would suit someone with at least two years’ experience running their own jobs who wants greater responsibility, exposure to a steady flow of projects and genuine progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
* Managing the commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final account
* Preparing and managing project budgets and cost plans
* Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
* Negotiating subcontractor agreements and variations
* Preparing valuations and applications for payment
* Managing variations and change control
* Producing monthly cost reports and cost/value reconciliations
* Liaising with Project Managers, Site Managers and clients
* Monitoring project costs to ensure delivery within budget
* Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor managing your own projects
* Experience working for a main contractor or specialist contractor
* Strong commercial awareness and cost management ability
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Organised with strong reporting and administration skills
Desirable
* Construction related degree or equivalent qualification
* Experience working on Design & Build contracts
* Experience delivering projects within the healthcare sector
