VGC are pleased to be supporting a client, a leading tier one contractor, with an international presence. Our client are working on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects throughout the UK and have a requirement for a Programme Manager, for a major long term framework in the North West of England.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of several major civil infrastructure schemes, under a long term framework agreement. This position requires strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams, close collaboration with sub contractors, suppliers and framework partners and the client, all while complying with the strictest regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
– Lead and manage a framework of complex infrastructure projects from initiation through to completion.
– Develop and maintain an integrated programme plan, aligning project schedules and resources.
– Ensure delivery against key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
– Oversee project delivery teams to ensure consistent standards and performance across the programme.
– Act as a key interface between the client, contractors, and key stakeholders.

This role will suit a strong Programme Manager with extensive experience in delivering major infrastructure projects, and the below experience/qualifications:
– Proven experience working within highly regulated environments (preferably nuclear, defence, or similarly complex sectors).
– Strong understanding of programme and project management methodologies (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
– In-depth knowledge of contract management (e.g., NEC contracts).
– Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
– Demonstrated ability to manage risk, cost, and schedule in complex environments.
– Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
– Relevant health and safety qualifications.
