Director – RCA Surveyor (Building Defects / Forensic Investigation)
Location: London (Hybrid working)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Benefits
This well-established consultancy is seeking an experienced RCA Surveyor to step into a pivotal leadership role within the growing team in London. This opportunity is offering a unique chance to take ownership of an established function and shape its future direction.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position, combining technical delivery, team management, and business development. You will lead on complex investigations across large residential and mixed-use estates, while overseeing a small UK-wide team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead root cause analysis investigations into building defects across large and complex assets
Produce high-quality, client-facing reports identifying causation and recommended solutions
Manage and mentor a team of 4 surveyors delivering work across the UK
Support on larger, complex projects while delegating smaller schemes to the team
Contribute to and drive business development activity, including fee generation
Build and maintain strong client relationships (commercial experience beneficial)About You

Building Surveying
Block / Property Management
Forensic / Defects InvestigationWhat matters most is that you:
Have strong RCA / defect diagnosis experience
Are confident leading investigations and producing detailed reports
Are comfortable managing people and projects simultaneously
Have a commercial mindset and are willing to contribute to business development
