We are working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor with an annual turnover exceeding £1bn. Known for delivering high-quality, technically complex projects across the UK, this contractor has built a strong reputation for excellence, innovation, and career development.

Due to continued growth within the Midlands region, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Site Engineer to support the delivery of major building projects.

The Role

As Assistant Site Engineer, you will support the engineering and site management teams in delivering projects ranging from £20m to £200m across the education, student accommodation, and commercial sectors. You will gain exposure to large-scale developments while working alongside experienced professionals in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Supporting the Site Engineer and Project Team with day-to-day engineering duties

* Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project requirements

* Assisting with quality assurance and ensuring works are delivered to specification

* Maintaining site records, drawings, and technical documentation

* Supporting subcontractor coordination and site logistics

* Assisting with health & safety compliance across site

* Liaising with design teams, consultants, and subcontractors

Requirements

* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar

* Experience within construction (placement or post-graduate experience considered)

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Eagerness to learn and develop within a major contractor environment

* Full UK driving licence (preferred)
