Job Overview
We are working with a reputable, busy specialist engineering company, delivering inspection, testing, and compliance services across lifting equipment and plant machinery throughout the UK. The business has a strong industry reputation and is recognised for its high staff retention and collaborative team culture.

Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now seeking an experienced General / Operations Manager to lead and develop their operational function from their Luton base.

This is a key leadership role within the business, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality inspection and compliance services across multiple client sites.

The role will involve a mix of office-based leadership and site engagement, with travel required.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Overseeing daily operations across inspection and engineering teams

* Managing and developing engineers, supervisors, and support staff

* Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards

* Driving operational efficiency, performance, and service delivery

* Supporting business growth and strategic planning

* Maintaining and developing client relationships

* Monitoring KPIs, budgets, and operational performance

* Ensuring high standards of reporting, documentation, and compliance

Requirements:

* Minimum 10 years’ experience within the lifting equipment / inspection industry

* Strong operational or senior management experience

* Previous hands-on inspection experience (highly desirable)

* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

* Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements

* Willingness to travel as part of the role
