Quantity Surveyor – Newbury

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a range of commercial construction projects based in Newbury, West Berkshire. This opportunity is ideal for a reliable and proactive individual looking to develop or expand their experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting across projects

Support the preparation of tender documents, contracts, and valuations

Monitor project costs and track variations

Help manage subcontractor accounts and payments

Liaise with project managers, site teams, and suppliers to ensure financial efficiency

Assist in ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to agreed timelines

Requirements

Some experience or academic background in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred but not essential)

Basic understanding of construction contracts and cost control

Strong numerical and analytical skills

Good communication and organisational abilities

Willingness to learn and take direction where required

Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities
