Environmental Services Technician

Our client, based in Sunderland, is looking for an experienced Labourer / Multi‑Trader to join their team as an Environmental Services Technician. The role involves outdoor environmental works, including street cleansing and grounds maintenance, using vehicles and equipment to help keep the city clean and well maintained.

Job Specification:

* Carrying out grounds maintenance and street cleansing activities across Sunderland

* Completing routine operational tasks using vehicles, power tools, and technical equipment

* Operating vehicles, machinery, and equipment safely and in line with work practices

* Undertaking safety checks to ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are safe and correctly adjusted before use

* Performing routine maintenance tasks under instruction

* Delivering a customer‑focused service aligned to local needs

* Working in accordance with health & safety policies, procedures, and relevant legislation

Personal Specification:

* Full UK Driving Licence – essential

* Ability to operate vehicles and a range of power tools and technical equipment

* Willingness to carry out physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions

* Good communication skills

* Ability to follow instructions, policies, procedures, and legislation compliantly

* Working days may include Monday to Sunday, with flexibility required

* Short‑notice call‑outs may be required

* You may be required to work Bank/Public Holidays and between Christmas and New Year, where service demands require
