About Us
We are a well-established, medium-sized contractor with an annual turnover of £2–3 million, specialising in refurbishment works across London. Our projects include both internal and external refurbishments, delivered to a high standard for a diverse client base.

The Role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Contracts Manager to oversee our projects across Central London. You will take ownership of either one large project (circa £1M) or multiple smaller sites, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting directly to the Company Director, this is a key role requiring strong leadership, organisation, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the day-to-day operations of one major site or several smaller refurbishment projects

* Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

* Ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget, and in line with specifications

* Monitor health & safety compliance across all sites

* Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders

* Provide regular progress and financial reports to the Company Director

* Identify and resolve project risks and issues proactively

* Maintain high standards of quality control and workmanship

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or similar role) within the construction industry

* Strong technical knowledge of refurbishment projects (internal and external)

* Background in construction, either through a trade or relevant degree

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

* Excellent communication and leadership skills

* Self-motivated with the ability to work under your own initiative

* Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability

Desirable

* Experience working on projects in Central London

* SMSTS qualification (or equivalent)

* Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
