Quantity Surveyor

Our Client are a respected, leading main contractor and have just been awarded a £10million new build residential project just outside of Guildford and are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to lead the project.

Duties:

* Manage all commercial aspects of projects from initial procurement through to final account settlement

* Prepare, review, and administer contracts, with a strong focus on JCT forms of contract

* Carry out cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle

* Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation of tender documentation and evaluation of returns

* Manage valuations, variations, and change control processes

* Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, value completed works, and identify risks

* Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts

* Negotiate and agree subcontractor accounts and manage payments

* Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks

* Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery

* Produce accurate and timely commercial reports.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry

* Strong working knowledge and practical experience of JCT contracts

* Demonstrable experience managing projects from procurement stage through to final account

* Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills

* Strong negotiation and communication abilities

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively

* Proficient in cost management and reporting tools/software

* Full UK driving licence

* Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred)
