They are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager to lead the delivery of the mechanical commissioning (Cx) scope on large-scale data centre projects. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will ensure all systems are commissioned safely, compliantly, and in strict accordance with programme milestones and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage and supervise Mechanical Cx Package engineers, defining work scopes and monitoring delivery performance.
Programme Management: Oversee the project commissioning programme, ensuring all deadlines and milestones are communicated and met.
Design & Technical Review: Engage in detailed design reviews for CFCI and OFCI work packages; ensure all mechanical design queries are documented and approved by system designers or client teams.
Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, participating in daily and weekly commissioning meetings.
Vendor Oversight: Plan and manage Vendor FAT/FWT (Factory Acceptance/Witness Testing) and oversee the commissioning scope for all CFCI and OFCI vendors.
Compliance & QA: Coordinate with the QA/QC and AP departments to ensure common objectives are met; manage the approval of test scripts, compliance statements, and level sign-offs.
Reporting: Generate and submit comprehensive mechanical commissioning progress and technical reports to senior management.
Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a mechanical commissioning leadership capacity.
Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to interpret and interrogate system P&IDs and a deep understanding of data centre redundancy (N+1, 2N) and standards (ASHRAE, LEED).
System Knowledge: Expert knowledge of HVAC (CRAC, AHUs, chillers), pumping systems, process water, fire-fighting systems, and fuel oil systems. Experience with water treatment plants and natural gas is highly desirable.
Project Delivery: Proven track record in Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and managing multi-contractor environments under pressure.
Safety & Quality: A robust understanding of EHS requirements and a process-driven approach to quality management.
