Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to join the growing in-house design team of a specialist ground engineering contractor.
As one of four designers, reporting to the Temporary Works Manager, you will be responsible for delivering foundation design solutions across both temporary and permanent works. This will include excavation and lateral support systems, ground improvement, and piling solutions. You will also act as a third-party checker when required.
Core responsibilities:
Produce calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in line with project specifications and relevant standards
Utilise specialist geotechnical and structural software to develop safe, efficient engineering solutions
Support production and tendering teams in the preparation of method documents and method statements
Provide technical support to site teams to ensure successful implementation of works
Contribute to value engineering and buildability reviews during pre-construction and delivery phases
Coordinate and liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants
Support technical discussions and contribute to project meetings
To be successful in this role, you will:
Be degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
Chartered status would be advantageous but is not essential.
Have approximately six to eight years of post-graduate experience
Have proven ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
Be experienced in design software such as Plaxis 2D/3D, Oasys AdSec, GeoStudio, Oasys Frew or Wallap, SAFE, or similar
The position offers a salary of £60,000–£70,000, plus a £4,600 car allowance and benefits. A lodge allowance of £1,600 net per month can be offered should you live more than 50 miles from site. Relocation support is also available, including short-term accommodation to help you settle in.
