M&E Estimator
The Opportunity
An established and growing M&E contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. The business operates across a broad spectrum of works, including both hard FM / maintenance contracts and full M&E installation projects, with a clear bias toward installation.
This role requires a versatile estimator who can confidently price across both disciplines and adapt to varying tender requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
M&E installation projects (primary focus)
Hard FM / maintenance contracts (PPM & reactive)
Review tender documentation, specifications, and drawings
Produce accurate take-offs for mechanical and electrical packages
Engage with supply chain to obtain competitive quotations
Build and submit comprehensive tender returns and proposals
Liaise with internal teams (commercial, operations, delivery)
Attend site surveys where required to support pricing accuracy
Support bid strategy and value engineering opportunities
Manage multiple tenders simultaneously within deadlines
What They’re Looking For
Proven experience as an Estimator within M&E environments
Demonstrable experience pricing:
Installation projects (essential)
Maintenance / FM contracts (essential)
Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to work across a varied tender portfolio
Commercial awareness and ability to interpret technical requirements
Experience working on commercial buildings / estates / portfolios
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable Experience
Background in hard FM / facilities management estimating
Experience pricing mixed-value tenders (maintenance + install)
Familiarity with contract forms and tender frameworks
