Job Title: Estimating Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Fit-Out

Location: West Mids (office-based with site visits as required)

Company Overview

We are working with a growing interior fit-out contractor delivering high-quality refurbishment and fit-out projects across sectors including commercial offices, education, healthcare, retail, and hospitality.

With a strong reputation for quality and a growing portfolio of repeat clients, the business is entering an exciting phase of expansion. As a result, they are looking to appoint an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.

Role Overview

This is a dual-role position combining estimating and commercial management responsibilities across commercial fit-out projects (including CAT A / CAT B office fit outs, schools, and refurbishments).

The role will suit someone who is commercially aware, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business where you can have real impact.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates and tenders for commercial fit-out projects
Analyse drawings, specifications, and client requirements
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
Identify value engineering opportunities
Produce bills of quantities and pricing documents
Support bid submissions and client presentations

Quantity Surveying Duties

Manage project costs from pre-construction through to final account
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost plans
Monitor project expenditure and profitability
Value and certify subcontractor payments
Manage variations, change orders, and cost reporting
Negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors

Key Requirements

Proven experience in an Estimator and/or Quantity Surveyor role within commercial fit-out/interiors
Experience pricing and managing CAT B office fit outs, education or similar projects
Strong commercial awareness and cost control skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience working with subcontractors and supply chain pricing
Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
Proficient in Excel and estimating software (desirable)
Full UK driving licence
