Salary: Up to £70,000 + £6,500 Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Package

The Company
A leading main contractor with a strong presence across the defence and public sector is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team based in Huntingdon. With a secure pipeline of Ministry of Defence (MOD) projects valued up to £100m, this is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging and high-profile schemes.

The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major MOD construction projects. You will support the project team with technical expertise, oversee engineering activities on site, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading engineering activities across large-scale MOD projects

* Managing and mentoring Site Engineers and junior team members

* Reviewing technical drawings and resolving engineering challenges

* Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and specifications

* Managing quality control procedures and inspections

* Liaising with subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives

* Maintaining accurate as-built records and site documentation

* Supporting planning, sequencing, and coordination of works

* Promoting and maintaining high health & safety standards

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Senior Engineer or Site Engineer on major building projects

* Experience working on projects up to £100m in value

* Previous MOD, defence, or secure environment experience desirable

* Strong setting out and technical engineering background

* Excellent communication and leadership skills

* Relevant construction or engineering qualification

* Ability to obtain or hold security clearance (desirable)
