Electrical Project Manager

Technical Global Solutions

Role: Electrical Project Manager – High Voltage (Substations / Mission Critical)

Location: Kettering (site-based, 5 days per week)

Employment type: Full time, permanent

Salary: £70,000 + £5,000 car allowance

We’re working with a leading MEP design and build contractor delivering major infrastructure and mission critical projects across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to bring in an Electrical Project Manager with a strong high voltage focus, specifically around substation and grid-related infrastructure.

This is very much a design and build environment. You’ll be involved from early-stage design coordination through to installation, energisation and final commissioning. The role is heavily geared towards HV delivery, not facilities or maintenance.

What you’ll be doing:

* Leading the delivery of high voltage electrical packages, with a focus on substations, HV distribution and grid connections

* Managing projects from design coordination through to energisation and commissioning

* Working closely with DNOs/IDNOs, ICPs and main contractors to ensure successful integration into the grid

* Overseeing installation of transformers, switchgear, protection systems and associated HV infrastructure

* Coordinating with design teams to ensure technical compliance, buildability and programme alignment

* Managing site teams including engineers, supervisors and specialist subcontractors

* Driving programme, quality, HSE and commercial awareness across all phases

* Leading testing, commissioning and energisation processes, ensuring safe and compliant delivery

* Acting as the key point of contact between contractor, client and supply chain

What they’re looking for:

* Strong experience as an Electrical Project Manager within an MEP or EPC design and build environment

* Proven HV experience is essential – ideally within substations, grid connections or large-scale power infrastructure

* Solid understanding of HV systems (typically 11kV–132kV or similar) including protection, switching and commissioning

* Experience working on large-scale projects such as data centres, hospitals, infrastructure or energy projects

* Background managing projects from design through construction to commissioning/energisation

* Experience liaising with DNOs/IDNOs and grid stakeholders

* Strong leadership capability managing multidisciplinary site teams

* Commercial awareness and ability to work alongside main contractors on complex builds
