Groundworks Contracts Manager – Frome, Somerset

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Contracts Manager to join a well-established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Frome. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of multiple residential and commercial groundwork projects across Somerset and the surrounding areas.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will oversee several groundwork packages from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

*

Managing multiple groundwork projects simultaneously (residential & commercial)

*

Overseeing Site Managers and Supervisors

*

Ensuring health & safety compliance across all sites

*

Programming and project planning

*

Managing budgets, costs, and variations

*

Client liaison and maintaining strong working relationships

*

Procurement of materials

*

Monitoring progress and reporting to senior management

Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks/civil engineering

*

Strong background in residential housing developments

*

Excellent knowledge of drainage, foundations, and external works

*

SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold Card), and First Aid (preferred)

*

Strong leadership and organisational skills

*

Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively

*

Full UK driving licence
