Head of Building Control

Our client, a leading organisation in the buildings sector, is currently seeking a Head of Building Control to join their team on a contract basis. This role at the forefront of building regulation and compliance will play a critical part in ensuring the safety and integrity of various building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing all aspects of building control within the region
Ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and standards
Managing and mentoring a team of building control officers
Reviewing building designs and plans to ensure they meet Class 4 specifications
Conducting site inspections and assessments
Developing and implementing building control policies and procedures
Liaising with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders
Providing technical advice and guidance on building control matters

Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in building control or a related field
Class 4 certification
Strong knowledge of building regulations and compliance standards
Proficiency in reviewing and assessing building plans and designs
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and assessments
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Relevant qualification in building control or a related discipline
