M&E Operations Director

The Opportunity
A well-established SME MEP contractor, with a turnover of approximately £15 million, is seeking a commercially strong and hands-on M&E Operations Director to join the business.
This is a key leadership role with a clear pathway into full Directorship, offering the opportunity to play a major part in shaping the future of the company.
The business delivers commercial projects up to £3 million and works with respected main contractors such as Skanska and Parkeray, providing a solid and consistent pipeline of work.
Role Overview
You will take full responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the business, overseeing project delivery while ensuring profitability, efficiency, and continued growth.
This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable being involved in both strategic decision-making and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the operational delivery of all M&E projects

Drive commercial performance and profitability across the business
*
Oversee Project Managers, site teams, and subcontractors
*
Manage client relationships and support ongoing business development
*
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
*
Implement and improve operational processes and procedures
*
Work closely with senior leadership on growth strategy and business planning
Requirements
*
Proven experience in a senior Operations / Contracts / Senior Project Management role within MEP
*
Strong commercial acumen with responsibility for project or divisional P&L
*
Experience delivering commercial fit-out or building services projects
*
Hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front
*
Ambition to step into a Director-level position and take long-term ownership
