Location: Maidstone
Salary: From £50,000 – £70,000 + package + benefits

A well-established and growing civil engineering main contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major infrastructure schemes across the Southern Region.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of secured work, offering long-term career progression and exposure to complex civils projects.

The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for multiple infrastructure schemes from contract award through to final account.
You will work closely with operational teams, providing commercial leadership while ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of civil engineering projects
Manage contracts from award through to final account
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
Administer contracts (NEC, ICC or similar) ensuring compliance
Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and accounts
Handle variations, compensation events, and claims
Maximise cash flow and manage applications for payment
Produce CVRs and maintain accurate commercial reporting
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
Support and mentor junior team members
Provide commercial support to delivery teams and senior management
Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a civil engineering main contractor
Strong knowledge of NEC or similar contracts
Experience managing projects through to final account
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects
Strong communication and leadership skills
