A Buildings & Places consultancy is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor. The building surveyor will support building surveying delivery across multiple sectors. The building surveyor will be involved in building surveying services across refurbishment and maintenance programmes. The building surveyor will work within a multidisciplinary team supporting project delivery.

The Company?

The building surveyor will join a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering services across building surveying, project management and design disciplines. The building surveyor will be part of a team delivering work across public and private sector environments. The building surveyor will support a growing workload across a range of UK projects.

The Role

As the building surveyor you will support senior staff across a range of surveying and project duties.

The role will include:
* Undertaking condition surveys, measured surveys and defect diagnosis
* Preparing schedules of work, specifications and professional reports
* Supporting contract administration under JCT and NEC forms of contract
* Assisting with project management duties across refurbishment and maintenance schemes
* Supporting delivery of technical due diligence and compliance reviews
* Working with multi-disciplinary teams across project stages

The Assistant Building Surveyor

You will be a motivated individual with a clear interest in building surveying and development within a consultancy environment.

The Assistant Building Surveyor must have:
* BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or relevant property-related degree
* Experience in building surveying through placements, internships or post graduate roles
* Understanding of refurbishment, maintenance or small capital projects
* Awareness of building pathology, design and construction processes
* Knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (AutoCAD or Revit advantageous)
* Working towards professional membership
