AC Engineer – London & Home Counties
Hill McGlynn is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing building services contractor for an experienced AC Engineer to join their team covering London and the Home Counties. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for stability, strong earning potential, and long-term career progression.
Salary & Package
– £45,000 – £50,000 basic (dependent on experience and skill set)
– OTE £65,000 – £75,000 with overtime and bonuses
– Travel time paid on any travel over 1 hour per day
– Regular overtime opportunities to significantly boost earnings
– Company van, fuel card, phone, and uniform provided
– 29 days paid holiday
– Company pension scheme
– Full-time, permanent position
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of air conditioning systems across commercial sites throughout London and the Home Counties.
Key Requirements
– Minimum 5 years' experience within the M&E / air conditioning sector
– Strong experience with fault-finding and repair of:
– VRF systems
– Split systems
– Experience working on refrigeration plant including:
– Walk-in cold rooms
– Drinks chillers/langers
– Standalone units (desirable)
– Ability to work independently on:
– Refrigerant recovery
– Pressure testing
– Brazed repairs
– Compressor changes (VRF and split systems)
– Experience working with major manufacturers such as: Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Toshiba, Panasonic – Desirable
– Ability to produce clear and detailed remedial and repair reports
– Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
– Previous experience working within commercial environments
– Participation in a 1-in-4 call-out rota
– Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)
Qualifications
– F-Gas Category 1 (essential)
