Project Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a highly regarded Tier 1 contractor, working on a £44 million school development project in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a large-scale education project, working between the construction site and the company’s head office in central Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage all commercial aspects of the project from inception to completion

* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports

* Administer subcontractor packages, including procurement, valuations, and final accounts

* Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering

* Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions

* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders

* Assess and manage variations, claims, and risk

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a Tier 1 or main contractor environment

* Experience working on large-scale construction projects (education sector preferred)

* Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. JCT)

* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills

* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively

* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

Desirable Skills

* Experience delivering projects valued £20m+

* Strong analytical and reporting skills
