A leading Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor based in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their growing commercial team. Renowned for delivering high-quality projects across commercial, residential, and mixed-use sectors, the company handles projects with values up to £2.5 million.
As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation and submission of competitive tenders. You will be responsible for accurately pricing electrical packages, ensuring profitability while maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for projects up to £2.5 million.
• Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Conduct take-offs and produce Bills of Quantities.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the wider commercial team.
• Attend pre- and post-tender meetings as required.
• Maintain a strong understanding of market rates and industry trends.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within an M&E or building services environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
