The Opportunity
My client, a highly prestigious and globally recognised property consultancy, is seeking a Chartered Historic Building Surveyor to join their established Architecture & Building Surveying team in Exeter or Taunton offices. The Role
Working within a multidisciplinary team of surveyors, architects and rural specialists, you will deliver a broad range of professional and project-based building surveying services, with a particular focus on heritage assets.
Responsibilities will include advising on the preservation and conservation of historic buildings, undertaking detailed building surveys and preparing reports, and managing contract administration across a range of projects. You will also be responsible for preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation, as well as delivering planned maintenance programmes and schedules of condition.
The role involves regular client interaction, including advising on procurement routes, contractor appointments and statutory compliance, while building and maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a key point of contact.

Requirements

MRICS qualified (or equivalent professional accreditation)
Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience
Experience within building surveying, ideally with exposure to historic or listed buildings
Strong understanding of CDM regulations, building regulations and health and safety
Ability to manage client relationships and deliver work to a high professional standard
Commercial awareness and project delivery experience
Full UK driving licence
