Location: Bristol (with travel across South West, London & Home Counties)

Description

We are working with a well-established Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and Building Services contractor with over 35 years of industry experience delivering high-quality engineering solutions across commercial, industrial, and public sector environments.

Due to continued growth and increased project demand, they are seeking an experienced BES Project Manager to take ownership of project delivery across multiple sites, ensuring successful outcomes across time, cost, quality, and safety.

This is a key operational role within the business, responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with clients, main contractors, consultants, and internal delivery teams. The role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of M&E and Fire & Security projects within a well-structured and growing organisation.

Qualifications

HNC or Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline

Minimum 3 years’ experience within the M&E / Building Services sector

Relevant site or project management qualifications (preferred)

Requirements

Proven experience delivering M&E or Building Services projects from pre-construction through to completion

Strong understanding of project delivery, programming, and site coordination

Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour

Strong commercial awareness with ability to support financial reporting and cost control

Good understanding of health & safety, RAMS, and site compliance requirements

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced project environment

IT literate with strong organisational skills

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to delivery and handover

* Oversee site operations including installation, commissioning, safety, and quality control

* Produce and manage RAMS, construction phase plans, and project documentation

* Take responsibility for project programming, progress tracking, and delivery milestones

* Support financial control including cost reporting, variations, and monthly project reviews

* Work closely with commercial teams to support procurement and subcontract management

* Manage subcontractors, suppliers, direct labour, and site teams

* Ensure all subcontract packages are procured correctly and meet company approval processes

* Chair and attend site meetings, progress meetings, and H&S meetings

* Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships

* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

* Manage design coordination and technical input across live projects

* Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, and variations

* Support ISO compliance, audits, and continuous improvement processes

* Ensure timely resolution of defects and non-conformities

* Promote effective communication across all stakeholders and project teams
