Project Manager – Ground-Mounted Solar

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects based in and around Milton Keynes.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from design through construction and commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full lifecycle of ground-mounted solar projects from design through to commissioning
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation (in collaboration with the Project Planner)
Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, HSQE standards, and all relevant UK legislation
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
Chair regular progress meetings and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders
Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-control measures
Support the Quantity Surveyor with inputs for financial forecasting and monthly reporting
Implement quality assurance procedures and carry out site inspections
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies
Provide timely updates and resolve issues to ensure client satisfaction
Oversee commissioning, testing, and project handover documentation
Ensure smooth transition to Operations & Maintenance teams
About You
8–10+ years’ experience in project management, including at least 5 years in renewable energy (solar PV preferred)
Proven track record delivering large-scale ground-mounted solar projects
Strong understanding of UK planning, grid connection processes, and renewable energy regulations
Project Management certification (PRINCE2, APM) desirable
SMSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH certification advantageous
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Proficient in MS Project and other project management tools
