The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team delivering a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work across frameworks, bespoke schemes, and reactive works, with project values ranging from £200k to £10m+.
As a key member of the commercial team, you will play a vital role in driving cost efficiency, managing risk, and supporting successful project delivery. You’ll work closely with project teams and senior stakeholders, contributing commercial insight while developing your expertise within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate cost, value, and cash flow reporting
* Manage project forecasting, CVRs, and commercial planning
* Prepare applications for payment through to final account
* Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and financial management
* Administer contracts (primarily NEC and IChemE forms)
* Identify and realise commercial opportunities while mitigating risk
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders on commercial matters
* Support project teams with cost control and efficiency improvements
* Ensure compliance with internal processes and commercial governance
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction or civil engineering
* Strong knowledge of NEC/IChemE contracts and construction law
* Experience in subcontract procurement and commercial management
* Demonstrable ability in cost reporting, forecasting, and analysis
* Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
Desirable
* Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
* Membership of RICS (or working towards)
* CSCS card
* Experience with estimation and direct delivery contracting
