Site Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways and earthworks scheme based in Newcastle. This is a long-term opportunity offering competitive rates and an immediate start on a high-profile infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

* Setting out for highways and earthworks packages including bulk earthworks, drainage, and road construction

* Ensuring works are delivered in line with design specifications and project requirements

* Carrying out QA checks and maintaining accurate site records and documentation

* Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams

* Producing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)

* Managing as-built surveys and ensuring records are up to date

* Supporting site operations to ensure programme targets and deadlines are achieved

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways and/or earthworks projects

* Strong setting out skills using GPS and Total Station

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

* Valid CSCS card

* Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)

* Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

* Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure projects

* Knowledge of QA processes and documentation control

* SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous)
