Quantity Surveyor – Claims and Dispute
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Entry into Claims – Dispute Resolution Consultant.
Location: Birmingham.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time.
Salary: Competitive, open to conversation depending on candidate experience.
A leading consultancy providing expert services in dispute resolution, including arbitration, adjudications, and litigation, across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to transition into the world of dispute resolution and claims. You will gain hands-on experience supporting expert witnesses and senior consultants on complex, high-value disputes, developing your skills in quantum analysis, claims preparation, and forensic commercial work.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims & Dispute Support:
Assist in the preparation of quantum analysis and draft reports for use in formal dispute proceedings.
Support the development and assessment of construction claims, including variations, loss and expense, and delay-related costs.
Help prepare documentation for adjudications, arbitrations, and litigation cases.Commercial & Contractual Analysis:
Review construction contracts and project records to identify risks, entitlements, and areas of dispute.
Analyse cost data, valuations, and project accounts to support claims and defence strategies.Client & Project Support:
Work closely with senior consultants and experts to deliver high-quality outputs for clients.
Support client interactions by contributing to clear, structured, and commercially sound advice.Development & Learning:
Build knowledge of dispute resolution procedures and expert methodologies.
Gain exposure to high-profile and complex projects across multiple sectors.About You:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
MRICS (or working towards) is desirable.
Strong grounding in commercial management, cost control, and construction contracts.
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a contractor or consultancy environment.
Keen interest in dispute resolution, claims, and forensic analysis.
Strong analytical and written communication skills.
