Operations Director – Main Contractor (Strategic Leadership Role)

📍 M4 / M40 Corridor Office & Site Based
💰 £135,000 – £145,000 + Bonus (up to 40%) + Executive Package

The Brief

We're working in partnership with a well-established, highly regarded Principal contractor to appoint an Operations Director as part of their next phase of growth.

This isn’t a replacement hire—it’s a strategic appointment.

You’ll work directly with the Managing Director, helping shape the direction of the business while taking ownership of operational performance across a portfolio of high-quality, technically complex projects.

The Role

You’ll lead operations across multiple projects (£1m–£35m), ensuring consistent delivery, strong commercial performance, and high standards across the business.

This includes:

* Leading operational strategy and execution

* Driving programme, quality, safety, and profitability

* Managing and developing senior project teams

* Supporting client relationships and repeat business

* Working closely with leadership on growth and direction

Projects span sectors including Commercial Office, Pharmaceutical, R&D, Healthcare, & Advanced Engineering across the M4 / M40 corridor.

About You

This will suit someone currently operating at:

* Operations Director / Construction Director / Regional Director level

* Within a main contractor / principal contractor environment ( Non Residential)

You’ll bring:

* A track record delivering commercial (non-residential) construction projects

* Experience overseeing multiple project teams and senior leaders

* Strong commercial acumen and P&L responsibility

* The credibility to operate at board / client level

* A mindset focused on performance, improvement, and growth
